IF End of Year 2011
December was an exciting month for IF. We had our first SALT event. SALT events give students the
opportunity to make a difference in the community by doing encouraging things for people around
them. During exam week we made “goody bags” and gave them away to help encourage students who
were in the library studying for their finals. God really blessed our time, and it brought hope to the
students we met.
Also in December International Friends had their first ever “Show de Talenentos and Christmas
Extravaganza.” This was a special night where international students shared their talents. Students
played guitar, sang, performed a comedy act, shared original films, and read an original poem. This
night was the last big group event of the semester for International Friends. We were glad to have the
opportunity to be all together once more, but sad to see friends leave who will not be coming back to
WCU next semester. We pray that God will continue to water and grow the seeds that were planted.
This semester Aaron, a Chinese student, gave his life to the Lord and was baptized in the Holy Spirit!
What a blessing for us to get to see the harvest of God in this way and to rejoice with him! God was
faithful to complete what he had started in Aaron before he came to the US. We praise God for our new
brother in Christ!
