Launch 2011

This past Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday was our 2nd annual T.E.C. conference, called “Launch 2011“. Our theme this year was “Changed from the inside out” from Romans 12:2. We had a great time with the teens this year.

Tuesday and Wednesday meals were provided for the youth at the church.  After dinner we had a time to worship and sharing with the youth.  God really blessed these times.  Jason shared Tuesday night and Pastor Ken shared with the youth the second night.  Both nights were really powerful and I know that the youth had an encounter with the Lord.

Thursday night we went to Fuddruckers and the Fun Depot in Asheville.  This year many of the youth felt the call of the 1 lb Burger.  Surprisingly, in this battle of Man vs. Food, Man won!  We had several teens conquer the burger.   I couldn’t believe how many of them were able to finish it. Next, we hit Fun Depot to play laser tag, arcade games, rock climbing, and go carts.  It was cool to see how the youth wanted to go hang out together.  We all went and played laser tag and then we spent a large part of our time at the go cart track.

We want to thank the Lord for meeting us again this year at the conference, we had an incredible time and could see the Lord transforming the youth.  Also want to thank our chefs Mary Elise and the Olivers.  George was up all night smoking BBQ for us, thanks George.  The Camerons, Kanes, Curtis and Rebecca all took time to come and spend time with the youth this week.  Thank you Ken and Dana for making a place for us to have the conference, sharing Wednesday night, and making slushy’s for us.
