City on a Hill

City on a Hill was founded by the current pastor of our church, Ken Jenkins, who served as a campus minister at WCU for 18 years, where we saw the Lord do amazing and eternal things in the lives of students and on the campus.

At City on a Hill we believe in Jesus.  We know that He speaks to us, that He wants to have a relationship with us, and that He deserves to be worshiped.  We believe that life is relationships, and we know that the most important relationship we have is with Jesus, so we want to give all that we have to Him.  Our founding pastor Tom Gamble once said that worship is the single most important things we do.  We are a group that loves to worship the Lord with whatever ability He has given us to do so, whether that is dance, singing, playing an instrument, painting, multimedia, spoken word, or just a life lived in worship to Him.

Matthew 5:14 says,

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
